Tucked behind Maenam Morning Market, Bao Bao is a neighbourhood eatery with a shaded garden terrace, a full craft bar, and a kitchen that cares about what goes on the plate.

We steam our bao fresh all day and source local produce wherever we can. The menu spans handmade buns, Asian tapas, big sharing plates and proper desserts — something for everyone around the table.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are you open?

Tuesday to Sunday, 12:30–22:00. We're closed on Mondays, and the kitchen closes at 21:30 — so come a little earlier if you'd like to eat.

Where are you, and is there parking?

We're at 203, Tambon Mae Nam, tucked behind Maenam Morning Market. There's free street parking right outside.

Do I need to book a table?

Walk-ins are always welcome. For a guaranteed table — or for larger groups and private events — call or WhatsApp us on 098 831 7657.

Do you have vegan and vegetarian dishes?

Plenty. Vegan dishes are marked with a green VEGAN label throughout the menu, and our Veggie Bento is entirely plant-based.

Can you cater for gluten-free or allergies?

Yes — several dishes can be prepared gluten-free, and we're happy to work around allergies. Do note our bao buns are made with wheat flour, so just tell your server and they'll point you to the right dishes.

How can I pay?

Cash, credit and debit cards, Thai QR / PromptPay, and bank transfer. All prices are in Thai Baht with 7% VAT included.

Are children and dogs welcome?

Both. There's a dedicated Kids' Bento on the menu, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on the garden terrace.

Is there wifi?

Yes, free wifi for guests — just ask the team for the password.

What's on the bar?

A full craft bar: signature cocktails, gin and tonics, wines, spirits, and Hitachino Nest Japanese craft beer — White Ale, Lager, Dai Dai Ale and Daisy Ale, straight from Ibaraki.
